Service Description
1-to-2 Swimming Lessons (ALN Focused – Any Ability) Our 1-to-2 swimming lessons provide personalised, supportive instruction tailored to each swimmer’s individual needs. These sessions are suitable for swimmers of any ability, from complete beginners to more confident swimmers, and are delivered in a calm, flexible environment that allows progress to be made at the swimmer’s own pace. These lessons are designed specifically for swimmers who benefit from additional support, smaller group sizes, and an individualised teaching approach. Sessions may focus on building water confidence, developing core swimming skills, refining technique, or working towards personal aquatic goals in a way that respects each swimmer’s needs, comfort, and communication style. ALN Requirement These sessions are exclusively for swimmers with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) or long-term conditions that affect how they access swimming lessons. This may include, but is not limited to: - Autism - ADHD - Dyspraxia / DCD - Hypermobility - Vision or hearing loss - Arthritis or other physical conditions - Neurological or sensory processing differences The structure of these lessons is intended for swimmers who require a more specialised and adaptive approach than is typically available in larger group lesson settings, and for whom traditional lesson formats may not provide the level of support needed to thrive. Programme & Teaching Structure These sessions form part of a programme supporting the STA Award in Aquatic Teaching – Disability Swimming. Lessons may be delivered by teachers undertaking this qualification as part of their practical development and assessment. Fully qualified swimming teachers and course tutors will be present poolside at all times to provide supervision, guidance, and ensure the safety and well-being of all swimmers. As sessions may contribute toward teacher assessment, formal progression tracking and guaranteed outcomes cannot be assured. Booking Information To ensure the most appropriate and supportive lesson experience, all bookings must clearly state the swimmer’s age, ability level, ALN or condition, and any specific support requirements. This enables us to allocate the most suitable teacher and structure each session effectively. If you are unsure whether this lesson option is the right fit, please contact us prior to booking; we are always happy to discuss individual needs and advise accordingly.
