Able to Swim with Aids - Ages 3-16
Service Description
Beginners 3–4 (Developing Water Confidence & Early Movement Skills) This class supports the STA Stanley 3 & 4 Awards and is designed for swimmers who have developed basic water confidence and are able to move independently in the water with the support of flotation aids, such as woggles or noodles. Suitable for ages 3–16, this level builds on early skills in a structured, encouraging, and supportive environment. Beginners 3–4 focuses on improving independent movement, coordination, and confidence through guided activities and games. Swimmers will work on front and back paddling, maintaining a supported floating position, and developing control and awareness in the water. Sessions continue to prioritise confidence and enjoyment while introducing more purposeful movement and early swimming skills. Due to the wide age range, swimmers are grouped carefully to ensure a positive learning experience for all participants. Where age or ability differences significantly impact a swimmer’s experience, parents/guardians will be contacted to discuss suitable alternative options. If you are unsure whether this level is appropriate for your child, please feel free to contact us prior to booking. Key Information & Expectations Maximum of 4 swimmers per class, allowing for close supervision and individual support. Lessons will be delivered by teachers currently undertaking their STA Level 2 Swim Teacher Course as part of their practical assessment and development. While teachers are not yet fully qualified, qualified teachers and course tutors will be present poolside at all times to ensure swimmer safety and provide support where required. As this is an assessment-based programme, progression and formal progression tracking cannot be guaranteed. Swimmers who support the programme for more than one hour will receive an RKLSwims Goodie Bag as a thank-you for supporting the course. This class is ideal for swimmers who are comfortable in the water with flotation support and are ready to develop early paddling skills while continuing to build confidence in a fun and structured setting.
