Helping Protect Your Swimmer’s Progress
When swimmers miss lessons due to illness, it can interrupt their confidence and learning progress. Splash Shield is designed to provide reasonable flexibility so swimmers can continue developing their skills when they recover.
Splash Shield provides illness credits that may be used to attend a catch-up lesson, subject to availability and the conditions outlined in the full policy.
Splash Shield is a goodwill benefit and does not guarantee replacement lessons or refunds.
Standard Splash Shield
Included for all swimmers enrolled with RKLSwims.
• Up to 1 illness credit per calendar month
• Credits valid for 30 days from issue
• Credits do not roll over between months
• Credits are non-transferable
• Credits have no cash alternative
Splash Shield Plus
(RKL Club Members)
RKL Club members receive additional flexibility.
• Up to 2 illness credits per calendar month
• Credits valid for 60 days from issue
• Priority access to catch-up sessions
• Flexible rebooking within available sessions
Splash Shield Plus benefits activate after 30 days of continuous RKL Club membership.
Claiming a Shield Credit
To qualify for Splash Shield:
1️⃣ Report the illness at least 4 hours before the lesson start time
2️⃣ Submit a Splash Shield claim within 72 hours of the missed lesson
3️⃣ The absence must be due to short-term illness
What Splash Shield Does Not Cover
Splash Shield does not apply to:
• Holidays
• Schedule conflicts
• Events or competitions
• Planned absences
• Non-medical reasons
Catch-Up Lessons
Shield credits may be used to book a catch-up lesson.
Catch-up sessions:
• Must be booked in advance
• Are subject to availability
• May be limited to designated sessions
• Do not guarantee the same class or time
Catch-up places are allocated to maintain safe group ratios and teaching standards.
Fair Use
Splash Shield is designed to support genuine illness.Frequent or repeated claims may be reviewed to ensure the scheme remains fair for all swimmers.
